About Church of St Nicholas in Prague

The iconic Church of St Nicholas in Prague, a renowned Baroque church, is located alongside the former Jesuit college in the center of Old Town Square. The site was previously home to a medieval parish church consecrated by Bishop Tobiáš of Prague in 1283 and the Romanesque Rotunda of St Wenceslas was nearby. Today, the Church of St Nicholas is regarded as one of the most valuable Baroque structures north of the Alps. Its construction took around a hundred years and was a collaborative effort by three generations of exceptional Baroque architects - Kryštof Dientzenhofer, Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer, and Anselmo Lurago.
